Kyle Harvey

Mr. Harvey was born and raised in Summerville, South Carolina. He recently earned his Master of Music in percussion performance at the University of Southern Mississippi, studying under Dr. John Wooton. While at USM, Mr. Harvey held a Graduate Teaching Assistantship, teaching undergraduate lessons, percussion methods, Steel band and assisting in ensemble rehearsals. He participated in most ensembles and was a winner of the USM Concerto Competition.

Mr. Harvey earned his bachelor’s degree in music education at Charleston Southern University. While there, he studied percussion under Dr. Michael Haldeman. Mr. Harvey has participated and performed with the Charleston Wind Symphony and the Summerville Community Orchestra. He was a member of the Coastal Surge Drum and Bugle Corps and the indoor percussion ensemble, Equinox Percussion. Mr. Harvey’s teaching experience includes teaching private lessons, working with Summerville High School’s marching band, Jones College’s Marching band, and substitute teaching in the Dorchester School District Two area.
